The Captain's decision to follow a Motor Yacht refit with the expertise of a professional surveyor, proved invaluable in this case. During the supervision we uncovered a significant mould infestation due to damage from water ingress.

The mould had penetrated behind panels and under floors, a simple repair to the water damaged area alone could have had disastrous consequences and leave the already established mould to further spread throughout the vessel. Under our recommendation, the crew were accommodated ashore immediately, and full biological and air testing ensued. Large areas of the flooring and insulation were replaced and further testing continued until the environment could allow the safe return of personnel.
